Q. Can a polyp fall off or heal on its own without being removed?

A. No, a polyp cannot fall off or heal on its own without being removed. Failing to get the appropriate treatment can cause the polyp to become cancerous. However, studies show polyps that are less than 10 millimeters have a slow growth rate.
